Branding course in Lebanon, strategy first, logo second.
qlev runs an online branding and design course for learners in Lebanon covering positioning, brand personality, verbal identity, logo and visual system design, and brand guidelines. It is self-paced and ends with a complete brand identity built as the capstone, with a certificate on completion.
Why do so many Lebanese brands look good and still fail to land?
Design talent is not the constraint in Lebanon. The country produces genuinely excellent designers, and the visual standard of local brands is high by any regional measure. The gap sits earlier in the process. Most projects start at the logo, and a logo commissioned before anyone has decided what the brand stands for is decoration rather than identity.
You can see the result across the market: two competing businesses in the same category with near-identical visual language, both beautifully executed, neither memorable, and neither giving a customer a reason to choose it. The design was never the problem. The absence of a decision about positioning was.
Beirut adds a specific complication. This is a design-literate city with strong aesthetic conventions, and it is very easy to produce work that fits in perfectly and therefore disappears. Standing out here requires a deliberate decision about what you are willing to be, and what you are willing not to be. That decision is strategy work, and it happens before anyone opens a design tool.
The qlev course puts them in the correct order. Positioning and personality first. Verbal identity next. Visual system after that. By the time you design anything, you know what the design is for.
What does the branding course cover?
Eight modules moving from strategic foundation to shippable assets, each producing a piece of the final identity.
- Positioning
- Decide who the brand serves, what it competes against, and what claim it can credibly own. Everything downstream depends on getting this right.
- Brand personality
- Define character, tone, and the qualities that make a brand feel like a specific thing rather than a category placeholder.
- Verbal identity
- Build the messaging framework, naming logic, and tone of voice, including how a brand should behave across Arabic and English without splitting into two personalities.
- Logo design
- Design marks that work at every size and in every context, from an Instagram avatar to a shopfront, and understand why most logo trends age badly.
- Colour and typography
- Apply colour theory and type selection with intent, including the practical question of pairing Arabic and Latin typefaces so both read as one system.
- Visual systems
- Move beyond a logo to a complete system of layout, imagery, and pattern that stays coherent across every touchpoint.
- Brand guidelines
- Document the identity so other people can apply it correctly without you in the room. This is what makes a brand survive contact with a team.
- Capstone
- Deliver a full brand identity: strategy, logo, visual system, and guidelines, presented as portfolio work.
Is this course for designers or for founders?
Both, and they take different things from it. Designers who can already execute usually find the strategy modules are the missing layer. It is the difference between being briefed and being able to write the brief, which is also the difference between charging as a producer and charging as a consultant.
Founders and marketers rarely leave intending to design their own identity forever, and that is not the goal. What they gain is the ability to make good decisions about brand, brief a designer properly, and judge the work they receive against something other than personal taste. That skill saves more money than the course costs on the first project alone.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. The qlev Branding & Design course spends its first modules on positioning, personality, and verbal identity before any visual work begins, because a mark designed without a strategic brief is decoration rather than identity.
You need access to a design tool to complete the visual modules and the capstone, and the course covers the principles rather than one specific application. Drawing skill is not required. Founders who never intend to design professionally still complete the course to learn how to brief and judge design work.
Enrolment covers lifetime access to all eight modules, every future update, and the certificate issued on capstone completion. Contact us for current pricing.
Yes. Pairing Arabic and Latin typefaces so both read as one coherent system is addressed directly, as is maintaining a single brand voice across Arabic and English rather than letting the brand split into two personalities.
That is the intent. The capstone is a complete brand identity including strategy, logo, visual system, and guidelines, built to be presented to a client or an employer as evidence of what you can produce.
